If you could introduce a rule change to the game what would it be
an extra point for scoring 3 or more goals in a game - would this stop the bus parking?

sin bin to stop losing players for 2 soft yellows?

a penalty kick when you reach 4 corners - yeah I know fucking stupid

lets be honest there's more less entertaining games than exciting ones these days, or do we plod along as it is?

Maybe the sin bin one.

And if players want to scrap, let them instead of red cards for trivial shows of temper.

Re: If you could introduce a rule change to the game what would it be
Once teams have scored 3 goals bus-parking has gone out of the window I think.

Maybe 5pts for a win , 1pt for 0-0 or 1-1, 2pts for 2-2 or above

My main one would be video replays with the fourth official in front of a screen shouting in the refs ear.
POGBA .... DIVE ....SEND THE CUNT OFF

Re: If you could introduce a rule change to the game what would it be
The fact the game has to stop when theres an injury. Play around them, like what happens in rugby.

I don't mean the serious, leg breaking injuries, I mean the ones when as soon as the ball goes out of the play the player sits down, shakes his head and signals for a substitution. Why the fuck should 50,000 people in the stadium and tens of millions watching on TV sit there twiddling their thumbs for 3 minutes whilst the physio comes on to assess. Half the time its time wasting as well.

Let the game play on, that will cut out all of the playacting at the same time.

Slight upgrade on Sven's one for the diving, for when proved by the fourth official that play acting has taken place.

Raffle at half time and the 10 winning ticket holders get to stone the cheating cunts to death.

Ought to help stamp it out from the game.

andy
That happens in AFL football. Trainers run on to treat minor injuries and the game goes on. Only stops if there is a major injury that obviously needs serious medical attention or if the ball goes near a player lying injured on the ground.
They do have an interchange system though where players can come off the field and go back on again. Each team can make 90 (NINETY) changes a match.

a few things

Stop the clock when there is a stop in play for whatever reason, so instead of the lottery of injury time being added on a whim (it seems) you get the full 90 mins of play. Would cut out timewasting.

Sin bins for dissent and diving

allowing refs to speak to the media after the match - they are human and make mistakes, lets get rid of the aura of mystery around what they decide, it will help.

not a rule change but a media change - stop the cult of manager personality. Tired of the endless w*nking over mourinho, guardiola etc.

get rid of the transfer window - a stupid concept that inflates prices and makes the papers/sky a no go zone for several weeks a year.

SVEN, isn't that the point. Go score 3 goals and earn yourself an extra point, all out attack and more entertainment unless you've got our squad of strikers

mic up the refs so we all know whats going on - like rugby.

Re: If you could introduce a rule change to the game what would it be
2 points for a win plus 1 point for every goal difference.

The ice hockey approach to scrapping. If two players want to have a go the game stops and they are more than welcome. That would ruined the careers of people like Dennis Wise as they would have backed away rather than invoke this rule.

Every team must field 4 homegrown players in the starting 11 and not just on the increased bench.

All clubs transfer list their players with a price at the end of the season and in December and the other clubs bid on a draft basis with a pick each before the list is then live for the rest of the world. Players not on the transfer list cannot be sold.

Managers can only be changed during transfer windows. Summer and January.

Yellow card for a foul throw - why do so many do it?

Sven Roeder 3:26 Wed Nov 30
Re: If you could introduce a rule change to the game what would it be
The teams that park the bus are still going to park the bus if there is some bonus on offer for 3 goals.
